Back to the Future for Amalie Millest

8th August 2011

In July, Amalie Millest, ex-student of St Mary’s School and Hereford Sixth Form College, met year 10 Science students at her old school, to talk about her experiences of student life here at the College and at university.

Amalie achieved high grades at both St Mary’s at GCSE and at A Level with us. It was her love of Chemistry at A Level that led her to change her original plans and read for a BSc in Chemistry at Bath University.

“It’s great to be back at my old school but it feels so small! The labs at Bath are huge – designed to seat over 150 people.”

St Mary’s students asked lots of different questions, ranging from making A Level choices to what a Chemistry degree involves and whether you can have pets in university halls.

Amalie is such an enthusiastic advocate for her subject that she might just go on to become a Chemistry teacher in the future!
