April 2009 marked Ruth's twelth anniversary as Deputy Principal (Staff and Students) at Hereford Sixth Form.
Ruth has a diverse role at the College, including overall responsibility for all marketing activities. This entails liaising with schools and other external organisations, co-ordinating a range of promotional activities, overseeing College publications and managing the website. While Ruth enjoys a hands-on role in all her marketing work, she certainly couldn't do it alone - and leans heavily on the other team members of the Marketing Unit!
Prior to joining Hereford Sixth Form College, Ruth worked at three other colleges in Hampshire and Devon and before that indulged her love of languages by living in France for five years, teaching and undertaking research for her PhD.
Ruth's passion for languages remains - she was the founding chair of Eardisland Twinning Association from 2006-2009 and relishes the lively link with La Vieille-Lyre in Normandy, France.
Ruth's main interest, like Angie, is travel, but she is limited at the moment to an annual visit abroad. One day, in her retirement from education, Ruth dreams of extending her opportunities to travel by returning to her first job as a courier / travel guide...
